EWA JUSTKA

Ewa Justka is a Polish electronic noise artist based in London. She currently studies BA Sound Arts & Design at London College of Communication. She completed an internship in physical computing at STEIM, Amsterdam, where she was working on documentation of Black Box modular system.

Justka’s main field of research is based on exploration of materiality of objects, vibrant, ontological systems (human bodies, plants’ bodies, electronic circuits: varied range of micro and macro environments and relations between them) and an investigation of modes of quasi-direct perception through noise performance actions, interactive installation, DIY electronics, hardware hacking, plant-molesting, breaking, deconstructing and collaborating. In her artistic work Ewa attempts to explore the concept of materiality of objects through creation of prompt interactions between them.

Ewa has performed at Network Music Festival, Birmingham, UK; Supernormal Festival Oxfordshire, UK, Club Transmediale Festival, Berlin; Explodin Cinema, Goldsmiths College, London, UK; STEIM, Amsterdam, NL; Moving Forest, Chelsea College, London, UK; Colour out of Space, Brighton, UK; Beam Festival, Brunel University, London, UK and more.

EMBLA QUICKBEAM

'Emerging from a netherworld of spectral radiophonics and atmospheric ambience, the Brighton-based Embla Quickbeam, once a member of ritualistic supergroup Leopard Leg, is a paragon of creeping malice and subtle disquiet. Her off-kilter symphonies of haunted rapture and discordant dreamscapes are a glimpse into a kingdom of unsettling beauty, and a monocle for the third eye.' - Supernormal

“Audio-investigator sends chewed postcards from the eldritch heart of England. Melted snapshots of tea-breaks in post-diluvian seaside cafes, fading playgrounds ascending to heaven as the radiation levels rise, and village bells dissolving into pure light. Like Terry Riley’s ‘Music For The Gift’ if the gift were a box full of eggshell and moss. Illogical, yes, but she has the tapes to prove it.” - Daniel Spicer

LUKE JORDAN

Luke Jordan works across various disciplines including performance, experimental sound, electronics, sculpture and installation, often investigating concepts of spirit and matter, through embodiment, sensation, space and imaginary media.

"In my current work I explore the animation of sculptural assemblages through the creation and modulation of an audio feedback loop channelled through their structures, accessing their hidden voices. The decaying elegance of these objects is in contrast with the cacophonous, inherently violent qualities of the sounds produced, which I attempt, but ultimately fail to control due to their chaotic nature. Presented as installations and live performances they become assemblages of human and non-human bodies interacting to produce a primal, viscerally affective experience."

PASCAL SAVY

Pascal Savy is a French musician who lives and works in London. He creates organic ambient and drone music as a way to reflect on erosion, transition and decay. He utilizes tones, textures, micro-melodies and noise to explore atmospheres rather than narratives. His work often combines acoustic and electronic sources generated from field-recordings, pick-ups, tape loops, feedback, synthesisers or home made electronics. He is also a contributor to online magazine Fluid Radio.

GRAPEFRUITS

Improvised sonic debris from Max Bondi (Tartaruga Records) and Oliver Barrett (Petrels/Glottalstop) making use of cello, synths, tape loops and electronics. For this performance they'll be joined by drummer Simon Trevethick.

LAID EYES

Laid Eyes is a video artist and film maker currently living in South London. With a background in visual anthropology, he is currently drawn to making digital music videos exploring abstract forms, and performing live improvised visuals for the likes of Petrels, Talvihorros, Pascal Savy and Time Attendant. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists including Excepter, Maria Minerva, Ensemble Economique, and Ekin Fil, and has had work screened at Denovali Swingfest in Essen, End Tymes Festival in New York, and Dunk Festival in Belgium.
